About Bianca

We are incredibly proud to welcome Bianca Walkden as an ambassador for the Owen McVeigh Foundation.

Born and raised in Liverpool, Bianca is one of Great Britain’s most successful taekwondo athletes. During an outstanding career at the very highest level of the sport, she became a three-time World Champion, four-time European Champion and double Olympic bronze medallist, representing Team GB at both the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Bianca became the first British taekwondo athlete to successfully defend a World Championship title and went on to win an incredible three consecutive World Championships in 2015, 2017 and 2019.

Throughout her career, Bianca has demonstrated determination, resilience and a tremendous commitment to achieving her goals – qualities that make her a fantastic role model for young people.

As a proud Liverpudlian, we are delighted to welcome Bianca to the Owen McVeigh Foundation family and incredibly grateful to have her support in helping us continue Owen’s legacy and create magical memories for children with cancer and their families across Merseyside.

Here is what Bianca had to say

“Feeling incredibly proud and honoured to become part of the Owen McVeigh Foundation. A Liverpool foundation with an incredible heart, backed by so many generous people who give their time, energy and support to help children and families affected by cancer.

After meeting Mark and Jo and seeing the way they work, their passion and dedication are truly incredible. I’m honoured to be part of this amazing family and to play even a small part in the work they do. Liverpool always comes together for its own, and this is such a beautiful example of that. ❤️”
